On Thursday August 24th, the Eglinton residents enjoyed a fascinating walking tour of the old medieval sector of Galway city.The information guide was none other than Jim Higgins, the Heritage Officer in City Hall who gave a witty but knowledgable introduction for newcomers on the wonderful stories and myths associated with Galway's ancient churches, castles, mercantile houses.
Jim has agreed to organise another tour in a few weeks time on the city's waterways. This will also be very interesting, as not for nothing is Galway known as the 'Venice of Ireland'!
